Carolyn Bolton
About
Carolyn Bolton is a 7th generation Texan and very proud of it. After graduating from Deer Park High School, she double majored in Economics and Political Science at the University of Houston. As an undergrad she worked part-time as a substitute teacher and fell in love with teaching. After graduating from U of H in 1998, she worked as a research analyst for a Houston Real Estate agency. She began her graduate studies in Early Childhood Education in 1999 at the University of Houston—Clear Lake, with the idea of teaching full-time in public school. However, graduate school taught her that public school did not provide the education that would turn children into lifelong learners. Therefore, she decided to homeschool her own 5 daughters—4 of which have already graduated into college and work careers. Carolyn is currently an art educator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and also spends her summers teaching at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
When not teaching at a museum, Carolyn enjoys studying current events and economic conditions around the world, and reading classic literature, especially Jane Austen.
