Course Description:
Discover the art and science of baking in this hands-on beginner course designed for aspiring bakers of all skill levels. Introduction to
Baking & Decorating will guide you through the fundamentals of creating delicious baked goods while building essential techniques
and confidence in the kitchen.
Students will learn how to properly measure ingredients, mix batters and doughs, and understand baking principles such as
temperature control and ingredient functions. The course covers a variety of classic recipes, including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and
basic pastries.
In addition to baking, you’ll explore the creative side of dessert presentation. Learn foundational decorating skills such as frosting
techniques, piping, simple cake assembly, and finishing touches that elevate your creations from homemade to professional-looking.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Bake a range of basic desserts with consistency and confidence
- Apply essential decorating techniques
- Understand key baking tools and ingredients
- Present baked goods with creativity and style

More than just a cooking class, students will use their new talents to bless others through service projects such as organizing a bake sale and preparing treats to share with the community. By the end of the class, students will leave with practical life skills, greater confidence in the kitchen, and many delicious memories!
This class is being taught by Mrs. Floyd who is an expert baker and owns her own thriving bakery.
