Course Description:

What better way to learn where places are in the world than through learning about people groups: their culture, foods, dress, belief systems, worldviews, and languages!? In this class, students will hear from as many missionaries as possible (both live in the classroom and over zoom), who can tell them – first hand – their experiences in the country they are in and the people group they serve. Mrs. Moore will have foods from as many countries as possible each week so students can enjoy a taste of every culture. The class will take local field trips to help students experience as many cultures as possible in the diverse area we live in. As students explore the world through cultures, they will learn through fun and engaging experiences to aid in learning geography.
Mrs. Moore will be using a wonderful curriculum by Notgrass called Exploring World Geography. It’s a beautiful book written from a Christian Worldview and includes scripture memory (which we love!). This course will provide students with 1 History credit; however, students can choose to also pursue an English credit and a Worldview credit on their own if they so choose – see the Notgrass website and EWG book for more details.

Upon completion, this class will equal One History Credit on HS Transcript.
