Course Description:
Welcome to Introduction to Robotics for 4th-8th grade! This course is designed for young innovators eager to dive into the exciting world of robotics and participate in the First LEGO League challenge. Throughout this program, students will explore the fundamentals of robotics, learn to design, build and program their own robot, and develop crucial problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the Basics: Grasp the fundamental principles of robotics, including sensors, motors, and programming.
- Hands-On Experience: Engage in hands-on activities using LEGO Spike Prime kits to build and program functional robots.
- Team Collaboration: Cultivate teamwork and communication skills essential for successful collaboration in the First LEGO League season.
- Creative Problem Solving: Develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges presented by the FIRST Lego League 2025 Challenge (released in August).
- Project Management: Learn to plan, execute, and present robotics projects, enhancing organizational and time-management skills.
This first year will be a non-competitive team with the potential to become a competitive team in future years.
