Course Description:

In this class students will learn the valuable skill of crochet that they will enjoy for a lifetime. I will teach students how to hold the hook and yarn in a way that is comfortable for them, how to read patterns, the basic crochet stitches for beginners, and more advanced techniques for quick learners. This class is project based and students are welcome to work on their projects at home as well as in class. As a service project, we will be crocheting beanie caps for chemo patients and donating them to Knots of Love.

Upon completion, this class will equal One Elective Credit on HS Transcript

Materials Required:

Links to purchase text books and supplies:

A small pair of scissors

Yarn- For the first class, I recommend any light colored worsted weight yarn (it will have a symbol on the back that looks like a ball of yarn with a 4 on it) like Red Heart Super Saver or Hobby Lobby’s brand (I Love This Yarn) . Avoid black as it will be harder to see stitches. *Throughout the semester, we will be working on projects that will require different types of yarn and I will let you know ahead of time what to bring.
