Course Description:
This Intro to Psychology class explores the fascinating world of the human mind and behavior. Students will study the brain and how it functions, perception, learning processes, communication, needs and motivations, personality theories, and abnormal psychology. Through class discussions, activities, and real-life applications, students will gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others while learning how psychological concepts shape everyday life.
This course is designed to engage students in critical thinking and personal growth as they explore how people think, feel, and behave. Topics will be presented in an interactive and meaningful way, helping students connect psychological principles to relationships, decision-making, and overall well-being.
Upon completion, this class will equal One Social Science Credit on HS Transcript.
An Honors Social Science option is also available. In order to receive Honors credit, students must complete all required assignments, participate in several enrichment activities, and write a formal five-paragraph essay on five supplemental books throughout the year.
