YARN:

While I will provide a variety of scrap yarn for the students to use for practice, when we get into bigger projects or if the students want a specific color, you will need to purchase yarn. I will communicate with you at least one week in advance when yarn is needed. I recommend that beginner students avoid very dark colors like black when they are starting because it can be much more difficult to see stitches. For most projects, we will be using worsted weight yarn (size 4, see picture below). My favorite budget yarn is Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn, but Red Heart Super Saver will also work though it is less soft than ILTY. Hobby Lobby has yarn on sale for 30% off every other week, so try to stock up on sales weeks to save money.
