About
Isela Martinez is an experienced homeschool mom and teacher. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science and ELA education for Kinder through 8th grade. She is fluent in Spanish. She is in her 18th year teaching (4 in public school, 14 in homeschool)! She has taught in several settings including Essentials and Challenge B in Classical Conversations, Elegant Essay, Lost Tools of Writing, all science classes, Spanish, Hebrew, and Geography classes. Teaching is her calling and true passion.
She bases her educational philosophy on Scripture, especially Deuteronomy 6:7 and Proverbs 22:6, emphasizing that teaching children should go far beyond academics. She believes in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—with a strong foundation in the Word of God. Education should begin with cultivating a love for their Creator and a relationship with Yeshua.
Parents are the primary disciplers, and academic subjects are secondary to spiritual growth. She stresses the importance of knowing each child personally and honoring their individuality, letting them express themselves and grow into who God made them to be. With love, guidance, and reliance on the Holy Spirit, parents can lead their children toward their God-given purpose.
