Deuteronomy 6:7 You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.
Proverbs 22:6-9 KJV. Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it. The rich ruleth over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: And the rod of his anger shall fail.
Her Educational Philosophy:
There’s so much more to a child than just their grades. My approach is to teach and nurture the *whole* child—mind, body, and, as a believer in the Bible, spirit most of all. As believing parents, our primary responsibility is to lead them towards salvation. The foundation begins with cultivating a love for their Creator. Much like farmers who tend to the soil to ensure healthy crops, we must tend to the spirits of our children by grounding them in the Word of God. Teaching them about Yeshua and His sacrifice is the most important thing—showing them what it means to follow Him daily.
We disciple our children, guiding them through learning arithmetic, science, history, and more. The Word is the *cake*, and everything else is just icing. If their spirits aren’t aligned, they won’t reach their true potential or purpose. If their minds and emotions are in turmoil, does it really matter what scientific laws they know? We, as parents, are the ones entrusted with raising them. No one else can fulfill that role.
Let children be children. Let boys be boys and girls be girls. Encourage loudness and expression within boundaries, and help them discover the unique gifts God has placed within them. Know their individual paths—not just spiritually and emotionally, but intellectually as well. Children are an invaluable treasure. Yeshua Himself said, “Let the children come to Me.” As you guide them, be filled with the Spirit, for you will need it. They aren’t robots, and neither are we. Their world is as vast as ours, with big emotions that rise and fall, but it all matters. They need love to surround them.
Let the Word guide you as a parent, mother, teacher, and disciple. God never fails, and if you train your child in the way they should go, when they are older, they will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6.
